Expertise
in production
Since inception, FRUITS ROUGES & Co. has been committed to providing the highest quality fruit, ensuring quality in every aspect of the production process. This expertise is underpinned by a strict selection of fruit varieties, partnering only with specialised growers, the development of a production/packaging subsidiary in Morocco, and through tangible commitments to sustainable development.
French production

Maintaining close relations
At present, French regional production represents more than 70 growers extending across a 200km surface area, and around a hundred partner growers in other French regions, allowing for seasonal complementarity. These growers produce berries for fresh consumption or freezing/processing at our premises.

Diversification
All of the berry growers in the Hauts-de-France basin are committed to a responsible farming approach, upholding the “Demain la Terre” charter.
In France, diversification into berry farming has enabled small operations to grow their farming activities, while diversifying by entering the export market.

Partnerships
Mindful of promoting French production and offering French-sourced fruits, FRUITS ROUGES & Co. has forged partnerships with orchard fruit growers such as those producing mirabelle plums in Lorraine, Bergeron apricots, and Williams pears in the Hauts-de-France and Rhône-Alpes regions. The aim is to process this fruit into purees and frozen products.
Our subsidiary in Morocco
In order to ensure out-of-season production, a subsidiary has been established in the north of Morocco.
This 70ha strawberry production facility has its own packaging plant as well as a freezing facility, each year allowing the employment of almost 700 local people in season.
The Morocco production facility has been Global GAP and “Demain la Terre” certified since 2013 for the baby food industry.

Worldwide partners
To ensure we can offer our customers a wide range of fruits and the best customer service all year round, FRUITS ROUGES & Co. has forged long-term partnerships with worldwide producers, who have a more suitable climate for growing certain fruit varieties.
These partner producers not only enable the company to meet the demand for fresh berries when they are out of season in France, but they also provide fruits for the frozen/processed division of its business.
Thus, at FRUITS ROUGES & Co., pineapples come from the Philippines and Costa Rica, Morello cherries from Serbia and Poland, and mandarins from Morocco and Spain.
Fresh berries
All stages of the fruit growing process are controlled by our teams of professionals, from the moment they leave the farm to the time they arrive at our premises.
Fragile by nature, the berries are packaged directly by pickers in the field. They are then transported to our facilities, still within the cold chain. After being inspected and sorted, they are then prepared to be sent to our customers within a very short time frame.

Frozen fruits, purees and fruit coulis...
On receiving a shipment of fruit at our facility, strict inspections are performed on both fresh and frozen fruit, where various fruit quality criteria such as brix, texture, colour, taste, and compliance with crop protection standards are checked.
Our teams of professionals assemble the best fruit at our facility, ensuring a good balance of flavour and texture for fruit purees and gourmet coulis. The fruits are sorted, crushed, and then, once sugar has been added, the resulting fruit pulp is sieved. The mixture is then flash-pasteurised and immediately chilled to retain all the natural goodness contained in each fruit.
